The three-dimensional computer processing chips would enhance a country’s ability to create missile guidance systems and nuclear weapons, so they are worth millions to the right buyer. Two thugs involved with the original theft follow Gallagher as he attempts to track down Cole, hoping to get lucky, but they are sadly mistaken. “The Pawn’s Run” features intrigue, double-crosses, violence and people on the wrong side of the law. Author J.J. Morgan enlisted in the Army in 1961, serving 17 months in Libya as a topographic surveyor, living much of the time in a tent in the Sahara Desert. He spent the rest of his tour at Fort Carson in Colorado Springs. Morgan, who worked as a surveyor for the U.S. Forest Service and the California Department of Transportation, earned a biological sciences degree and worked as a fishery biologist for 30 years, managing Pacific and Western Pacific fisheries. He and his wife, Ellie, have been married more than 47 years and have two children. He hikes every month in the Sierra Nevada Mountains.
